Adding friends

I am not new to this site, but since I had forgotten how to get on my old profile, I decided that it seemed easier to just create a new one. Anyway, it feels strange to troll other people's pages just looking for people with common goals. I also thing it is strange that some people want you to leave a message as to why you want to be their friend and then they will decide if you are worthy. I get the whole leave a note, that just seems polite! I think that since we are all members of this community, the reason we would want to friend someone seems pretty obvious to me. I mean each of us may have very different fitness goals, but we are all here because of fitness...that is our friendship bond.

So am I totally missing something? Either way, God Bless all of you and continue to kick *kitten* daily! May you surpass all of your fitness goals.

  • Too funny... your topic because I was just searching in the message boards for strange people 'friend' ing you.
I have been a member on the site for a year and active only the last two months. Active, being that I have been writing to boards and requesting friendships.

Recently I have received a friend request from someone I did not know (or talk with on a blog or message board) and friended them. They have no profile info filled out, only one picture which is a little racy, and the other friends on their list is other racy people. For me... I unfriended them.... seemed a little too stalking for me.

So the answer to the question is: Yes it is important to know why someone wants to friend you. Not everyone in the cyber world just wants your friendship and support!
