I had debated on posting this, but I decided it may help others that are having the same issues as myself. Issues that I didn't understand, until now.
I had wondered why I felt sick every time I would eat oatmeal and malt-o-meal. I wondered why I would retain so much water and be lethargic on days I ate breads and pastas. After all, carbs are supposed to help give you energy, not make you feel like going to bed. I wondered why I was having such a hard time losing weight, even though I was eating at a deficit.
So I stopped eating oatmeal and malt-o-meal, even though I loved them. I would occasionally eat bread and pastas. I found on the days that I ate them, the next morning I would wake up swollen and with major water retention. Since putting all these facts together, I decided to eliminate them altogether.
It wasn't the carbs keeping me fat. It was the grains. So, am I gluten intolerant? It is possible, with all the research that I've seen.
Since I have eliminated the grains, I've already dropped 3 pounds of water weight. I guess that means no more gluten for me. In a way, it is kind of sad, because I love to bake goodies. I guess I will have to find alternatives.
