Help needed to plan a fitness regime?

Hi I am new here and am looking for guidance in coming up with a suitable fitness regime for my lifestyle. I'll start off by saying I'm 18 years old and female and want to lose about 11 pounds and tone up. I don't want to go to the gym as I don't have anyone to go with and I get anxiety. Although I'm hoping to start swimming once a week. I am a dog walker so obviously I do more than enough walking. I can't do running or even jogging due to weak ankles (doctors advised against anything that's heavy impact). What would you guys recommend in terms of what to put in a workout routine that would be carried out 3-4 times per week at home. Is there any equipment that would be highly recommended in buying? Thanks!

You could do different style pushups, core/ab work, yoga and some elliptical machines are easy on joints. I don't go to a gym. I play competitive volleyball twice a week, run and do P90x at home. Seems to work for me0

a fitness regime? that's a bit drastic, a fitness regimen would be OK though
a good fitness regimen should at least incorporate 3 areas : strength training, conditioning, and rest and recovery.
there are many ways to do that and some things like martial arts/boxing will work on multiple areas at once.
swimming would be great for conditioning, but for strength training look up body weight exercises or TRX suspension systems.0 -
Jazzercise offers the 3 important components of cardio, strength training and stretching. It's also a lot of fun, and the people (almost always all women) are usually very welcoming and in the same boat as far as being there to lose some weight (especially in January). You can also do all low impact (the instructor will demonstrate low impact.) Check out www.jazzercise.com to see if there are classes in your area.0

Remember a calorie deficit is the most important thing for fat loss. The book 'Body by You' is great for strength training and only uses body weight- not equipment.0
