muscle cramps

Ok I used to think that calf Charlie horses were just potassium based premonition's of long lost grandfather that had leg cramps daily that were crippling and it was just him visiting. Now I am here to tell you the calf cramps are spreading. I know have them in my back sides, flanks, in rib region and are just horrid. Omg my calf, then ribs, then calfs, then thigh, then ribs. I have to look like I am a some crazed idiot when they happen right behind each other like that. I refuse to spend 110 calories on a banana! There are such more gratifying things for 110 calories. So I use broccoli and other means. I take my vitamin. I have calcium supplement and iron due to anemia dx. But come on daily!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this hurts and hard to get to stop. I drink 8-12 glasses of 8oz free water a day. WHY I am suffering with these cramping muscles????? OR is grandpa visiting daily and kicking me everywhere for sitting still????

Just eat the banana. Then again, if the cals are too much for you it's time to see the DOCTOR!

Frankly, for me it would be the banana but that's just me.
  • I have the same problem, but not as bad as you. My feet and calves cramp up when I bike at the gym, then I can't do strength training or even drive for a little while. I find it helps to add Emergen-C to my water in the morning. It has Magnesium and Potassium. Only 25 calories.

Look up psoas stretches. I had horrible pain and nothing seemed to help until I found the psoas exercises and massages.

If you eat a healthy, balanced diet high in vegetables, and you don't eat lots of sodium, then i would meet with a doctor. There are some medical conditions that can cause cramps like yours.

Do your calcium supplement contain magnesium?
