    CONGRATS, GIRL! My "girls" are a little to big right now to try running!! :laugh: :laugh: :laugh: But, hopefully I'll be running soon, too! Keep up the great work! :smile:

    It's such a triumph, isn't it? I LOVE the running...but get shin splints that kill me. Hopefully you won't have that same problem!
    Way to go!

    This may look quite stupid, but it works! Running backwards can help to alleviate shin splints. Your muscles just need to move a different way for a while. Running backwards exercises different muscles than running forwards does.

    I am not 100% sure of the anatomical workings of shin splints, other than muscle separates from bone and it is very painful! Yuck!
