calories burned exercising

MFP logs 3 10 minute exercise sessions the same as if it were a 30 minute continuous session, but I feel like I have to work much harder to complete the 30 minutes all at once. My question is are the calories burned really the same? Or do you burn more calories doing 1 30 minute session as compared to 3 10 minute ones? Another thing: I find the exercises getting a lot easier the more I do them (presumable due to muscle memory, increased strength/stamina etc). Does this mean I am now burning less calories?

The only way to really know how many calories you are burning is to use a heart rate monitor. Take a look at the Polar FT4.0
