They say "Sugar" is addicting. You'll be free basing and snorting lines of it within days. Good luck with your diabetes and (insert other maladies caused by "Sugar") OP:flowerforyou:0

My feet smell. Should I skip the gym?
Oh, sorry, wrong thread.
In for sugar, though. Always in for sugar. :drinker:0 -
when I come from fruit, I am a magical substance that is associated with unicorns and fairy dust and you can eat as much of me as you want, will never have a care in the world; on the other hand, if I come from "bad", "added" sources, then I am a demon from the seventh level of hell who will make you fat, increase your body fat, and make you sell your family to someone named quan in taiwan just to get more of me…
Feel free to discuss this interesting dichotomy….
Sugar, sugar..... :
You know sugar is not good or bad, it's just....sugar. Everything in moderation.0 -

I saw a recipe for apple crisp the other day where the person posting it said they were surprised at how sweet it was without sugar... they then went on to say the recipe just used honey and apple juice. Methinks some people don't know what sugar is, or are in denial.
Edited for typo
I'm sugar sensitive (not diabetic), meaning that if I make a poor choice and eat too much sugar I get to feeling pretty buzzed, and then I crash and don't feel well at all. Too much sugar for me means more than a small slice of cake or more than 1 cookie. Sugar, whether fruit or sweets, in moderation does not bother me.0 -
Well hello there Sugar ain't you a sweetie :smooched:0

Sugar comes from sugar cane or sugar beets.
Sugar cane and sugar beets are vegetables.
Therefore sugar is one of my five a day :drinker:0 -

What theory? I just baked brownies.
well if you cook the brownies with fruit sugar then they have negative calories….
In for negative calorie brownies.
there was a discussion a few month back where someone said that they made low calorie chocolate brownies by added some diet lemonade to a brownie mix from the supermarket and it tasted 'wonderful and just like normal brownies'. The horror ... I nearly cried :sad:0 -

note how it says that the brain uses about 10% of our TDEE and that it derives that energy from sugar. So if you are using 2000 cals a day 200 should be derived from sugar. The article does differentiate a lot between added sugar and not, but it doesn't explain how the body differentiates whether you eat 20 oranges a day or whether you have chocolate cake.0 -
Fruit is good for you. It's low cal, high in fibre and packed with vitamins and micronutrients. A small amount of sugar doesn't make you any harm. In fact, it is ready energy and allows you to function.
Processed food is not good for you. It is stuffed with nasty additives. The added sugar often double up the calories the same meal would have if home cooked.0 -
and I have always used a spoon for of sugar to help the medicine go down....Do do I not take my medicine now because sugar is bad...0

if you take your medicine with fruit sugar you will be fine…it is only the added sugars that are bad.0 -

I have to wash an apple before I eat it. I don't have to wash an apple pie. Therefore, the pie is clean. But the sugar in the clean pie is bad but the sugar in the dirty apple is not bad? This stuff is so confusing.
haha, this.
Also I'm eating carrot sticks and don't feel worthy of this posts0 -

er... what I meant is that It's not the sugar that is good or bad, is the stuff that comes with it. sorry if i contradicted your beliefs.0 -
