Hey curious what charities you support! I support Special Olympics and March of Dimes. I am currently raising money for special olympics. Im going to do the polar plunge in Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri on February 22! THATS GONNA SUCK but its for a GREAT cause! One of the ways I am going to push my fitness is by doing C25K and when I "graduate" the program I am going to do a March of Dimes 5K in memory of my Neice Maddy who was born on Valentines day last year and lived 11 days. My nephew is my inspirtation for Special Olympics. He has Cerebral Palsy.

I do 10k runs for various charities:- Epilepsy UK, AGE UK, Alzheimers Society. I also give monthly to RSPCA. I feel everybody needs to do their bit for charity

For the past 5 -6 years I've taken part in the Marie Curie Cancer Care Swimathon (individual 5K). Last year I got the kids from my school involved and we entered 10 teams of 5 swimming team 1.5K and raised almost £10000. We'll be doing this again this year I hope.

In addition, now I am regularly running 5-10K I am thinking of entering a 10K race for Alzheimers Society (I've completed the Memory Walk in the past in memory of my MIL who passed away due to illness brought on by Alzhiemers). There is the BUPA 10000 in May I think (in London) - I need to look into it a bit more :)

Last year I supported my sister in Susan G Komen 3day/60 mile walk and the ACS Relay for Life walk. This year, as a breast cancer survivor, my goal is to walk WITH her in the Relay for Life walk.

I work for a real estate board. We are the main sponsor of homeward bound, which is a non-profit that benefits several local agencies that help the homeless (Salvation army, urban ministries, habitat).. We participate and organzie the Realtor team for their 5k each year and host a golf outing annually. Last year was our best, we wrote our donation check for over $10k from those two activities.

I'm going to do all kinds of walks for charities this year. Here, we have leukemia walks, Alzheimer walks, cancer walks, I believe there is a march of dimes, and I know we have a special Olympics something, but I just donated money to a friends dad who was doing something last year for it. And I think there's also an animal rescue walk where you can take your dog(s). I just don't know when.

I do 5K charity runs, but for the most part, if and when I have money or items someone could use, I give it directly to that person. I have been in positions where you have to jump through hoops to get help and it's overwhelming enough when you're already stressed out. I am part of a random acts of kindness group, and each month we donate what we can and nominate someone who needs help. All money we raise goes directly to the person.
