Can anyone recommend a healthy low calorie home-made sauce?

Hi,
I've just joined and started calorie counting, Day 6 and I've become quite addicted to looking at the labels in the shop and working it all out to hit my daily thousand calorie allowance ;)

I've been eating a lot of fish fillets with broccoli, cauliflower. A lot of vegetables in chopped tomatoes and garlic, etc. But I'm getting bored. I love cooking and I'm missing the process of constructing great meals. The food is bland, so I'm looking for a range of great sauces I can make from scratch and add to my veg/fish/chicken fillets that aren't dripping in calories and fat but still real tasty.

Thanks for any tips. :)

Mike

Not much room for sauces on a 1000 calorie allowance. Condiments, vinegars, citrus, spices, herbs can help. Why any guy would think 1000 calories isn't a recipes for a binge or 2 or sustainable at all is beyond me, good luck.

Oh OK. I was told that to lose weight quick I needed to at least halve my daily calorie intake. (I read that normal man needs 2000 cals a day to maintain weight).

I want to lose 3 stone by end of March, then plan to maintain through more exercise and more sustainable long term calorie intake.

    Is this bad?

Lose weight slowly, with a sustainable, realistic deficit. Exercise while you lose weight. Unless your plan is to drop 3 stone, return to normal eating and put it back on...

Try iifym.com to work out how much you should be eating depending on your stats and activity.

Not sure which "normal" men you're talking about, but most men I know would start to disappear on 2000 cals a day. You'll probably find you need more than that just to survive!
