Sore but feeling hopeful!

I am back it again this year, starting over really. My hubs and I joined the Y on Saturday and since then I have:
-carried my 23lb son around the zoo for the better part of our day there on Sunday (about 4 hours) -arms were sore the next day
-used some weight machines (arms) on Monday night and used the eliptical for about 30 minutes -arms still sore after this
-took Zumba on Wednesday - legs, especially inner thighs, sore next day
-went to the gym yesterday to meet with trainer and set up my Activtrax account and had to do a strength test, which meant maxing out on the machines. I lifted a lot more than I ever thought could (but only about 8 reps before the trainer let me stop, lol) and am SO thankful the prgram uses that to calculate something more doable.
After all this, my legs and arms are SORE! Every time I get up from my desk and walk to the printer or bathroom, I have to get up SLOWLY and I am sure I look like I am walking with a big 'ole wedgie. I was thinking about taking Zumba tomorrow morning.....but honestly am not sure if I could take it right now, lol.
How do you help ease the soreness? Epsom salt baths? Or is the only cure to get back in there? (like, with running - I don't run, but I have friends who do and they told me if my legs are sore from running to go running again.....I laughed at the one that suggested that. She loves running....I do not) Due to some family business I probably won't be at the gym again (sad face) until Wednesday when I made my 2nd appt with the trainer to go over my 1st Activtrax planned fitness routine.
*edited to change the sentence from "help the soreness" to "help ease the soreness" because I don't want to help the soreness, it doesn't need any help from me.

To help the soreness I would recommend some sort of Recovery drink. You can take Creatine Recovery, Results & Recovery (Beachbody), or look at places like GNC. Most sports places, even walmart, would have something.0

Disagree. The recovery drinks don't have any proven affect on soreness (and most of them don't claim too - they are about trying to get things you need, or at least that they claim you need, back into you after a workout). The best ways to get rid of soreness are light effort (walking, stretching, etc.) and a foam roller to work out the muscles. As your body gets used to what you are doing, you should get less sore and less often. Work through it and you'll be fine.0 -

Cute! Yay for you getting back to it. I started cross training this week...ouchie! I was extremely sore. I had made plans to try a yoga class with my sisters. I almost backed out due to my pain. Luckily, I stuck it out, I feel so much better! Perhaps trying a free youtube yoga vid would help ease your pain?0 -
Epsom salt baths! I usually just pour the whole pound container in there. And sit for at least 20 minutes. Then a foam roller. YouTube has videos on how to use it properly. It will hurt so badly. But the relief afterwards is worth the few moments of pain. I also take magnesium citrate pills and that seems to help a lot too.0
