Hi there,
I have got a Garmin Forerunner 210 which I used a lot whilst running for distance pace etc. I was wondering if any one knows if using the watch and the HRM strap will be accurate (ish) for calculating calories for other workout such as outdoor cycling or workout DVDs?
Many thanks!!

I use my 610 with the heart monitor for cycling and indoor treadmill work. It seems to be fairly accurate, I would say more so than what MFP lists for cal numbers for certain activities. (610 is usually lower)0

It seems that any of the newer Garmin X10 series use the "new leaf" algorithm or variants of it that are reputedly quite accurate:

I use my 610 for running, riding (indoor & outside), rowing but IIRC the same caveat applies to Garmin as other HRMs in that the calorie calculations are really only useful for steady sate cardio activities.0
