Hi All,
I've been using this site for 2 weeks now and only just realised there was a forum
I've been overweight since i was 13 (i'm about to turn 31) and have gone on many diets in the past. At the start of August i was going in for day surgery to have my wisdom teeth out when the doctor came in and told me she wasn't comfortable knocking me out in a day surgery and wanted me at a hospital. When i asked why she explained a person of my size was more likely to run into problems while under. Not the thing you want to hear while getting ready for surgery.
So it was cancelled, and as i walked out of the place embarrassed, having to call my wife and explain to pick me up early, i decided to try and make a real effort to change.
I've been using diet shakes for 2 of my meals (breakfast and lunch), with some fruit and nuts through the day, with a lite meal of lean meat and steamed veggies for dinner for about a month now. So far i've lost 5.5kg and 3cm around the waist, but it's still early days yet.
This sites been great, helping me keep track of all the food, to make sure i don't go over. Look forward to keeping it going.
