It's funny the things the body does. For myself if I go over a certain body fat, things start to go pear shaped, my health, vitality, and it just feels wrong. I eat less to maintain, and sports suffers. All obvious stuff, and also could be imaginary, but I'm sure I've read about how inefficient the body becomes after a certain point.

I've also read that cuts slow down, and are better in 6 weeks periods, hence my philosophy of adding as little fat as possible on a shorter (6-? Week) bulk. I also think it's really more unhealthy than we think it is to be in any kind of macronutrient or micronutrient deficit, and it's better to not play around too much with the cutting.

But these are just feeling and thoughts. I'm still learning.

I agree. Every body is so different and it's a trial and error because one thing may work for one person while it has no effect on the other.

I have to do the 6 week mini bulks with eating at a deficit for 2-4 weeks between or directly after because of the emotions and feelings going up too high in weight causes and I usually get noticeable results within that time.

I'm sure I would get awesome results going 3 months but I know myself and what I can handle and what the additional weight gain over 5lbs does to my body (hips, midsection expand) and psyche

The only way to tell for sure is measure body fat percentages
So if you are 20.0% body fat at 200 you have 160 pounds of non fat. You have 40 pounds of fat

Measure 6 - 8 weeks later and see where you are. Let's say you went to
206 at 20% body fat, you now have 1.2 more pounds of fat, but 4.8 more pounds of muscle

You do 9 more weeks and only now you weight 212 at 19.5% body fat
now you have 41.34 pounds of fat and 170 pounds of muscle

Above was just an example of how to put things in perspective, it takes generally longer to gain muscle than it is to lose fat. 0.5 pounds a week is very hard to accomplish. So generally bulking phases take longer. Don't be stupid and eat 1000+ over maintenance depending upon size 250 - 500+ calories is probably a good bet. If you don't eat enough, you will not gain.
