Yoga

I've heard so many good things, yet never tried it. I guess I'm just not one of those "peaceful" or "graceful" people hahaha. But I'm looking to get into it and would like to try some YouTube videos tonight! Do you have any videos you really like, or an instructor you love? Any Advice? Thanks in advance!

  • Hey I love yoga. I was really skeptical at first but I've been doing it now for 3 years. If you want a taste try Jillian Michaels Yoga Meltdown. It's not true yoga but you can get the moves. Rodney Yee is a great beginner instructor. I love Travis Mitchell, Shiva Rea is popular. I like Kundalini Yoga by Ana Brett & Ravi Singh are good, but different. Crunch Yoga is awesome and simply. Namaste Yoga used to air on tv and now they have the series on DVDs. Flow Yoga with Tara Lee. So many good choices. I suggest you check out the stuff on YouTube and choose what style works best. Travis Mitchell has a 108 day system, the P90X of yoga.

I usually just do yoga on my own, however when I first started out I often followed Ekhart Yoga on youtube! Esther is such a lovely lady, her videos are all filled with very peaceful flows, and she's wonderful and explaining poses and keeping you engaged. :) I would definitely recommend!

I would definitely start with a beginner yoga. If you go on Amazon and good Element Yoga, they have some good DVD's that are really cheap (like $9).

Personally I got a Shiva Rae "Build your Own" type workout DVD and I really don't like it, and it's definitely not good for a beginner.
