When I first started MFP on a Sunday I weighed myself on my scale at 303lbs.
The next sunday (last sunday) I weighed myself on my scale at 300lbs.
Today I had a Dr.'s appointment in the a.m and their scaled weighed me as 293 lbs.
Tonight (right after i went for my walk) I weighed myself on my scale at 305lbs.
What the heck? I think I need a new scale? This scale is pretty old.. and not digital-
AQny recommendations for a good scale? My mom has one of those 'beam balance' scales-
but she uses it and I dont want to go to her house to weigh myself all the time.
thanks in advance- I would just like to know what I weigh!!!!!

Ali, stay off the scale. I have a wal-mart digital and it is right on with the doc's. My sis took her son to the doc's the other day ahd they both weighed(even tho she is doing the challenge also):noway: and they weighed the same on both scales. I like the digital Better then the reg one Too.0 -
The scales can make you crazy. I have two weights. Once a week I weight on my digital weight watchers scale. For me that is my official weight. I weight first thing in the morning every Saturday before I eat or drink anything. Then the second weight is the Doctors weight in this one is usually about 3-5 lbs over my weigh in at home. DON'T LET THE SCALES RULE YOU LIFE! RELAX, ALLOW THE BODY TO DO ITS JOB. YOU DO YOUR JOB STAY ON TASK AND YOU WILL BE SURPRISED AT HOW QUICKLY YOUR WEIGHT WILL COME OFF.0

My scale broke last week and I was pretty bummed I had a digital that I bought from walmart and the last reading I got from it before it died was 85lbs more than I weigh so I went out and bought a new scale today and decided against the digital. Anyway I brought it home and I decided I hate this scale even more. It is ugly looking and it is hard to distinguish between the pounds and this is really hard for me when the digital showed me to the tenth of a pound. I think I am going to return it tomorrow and spend a little more for a better one. Probably digital too. Some may think that I am obsessed with the scale but it is definitely something that has kept me on track. I know my weight flucuates throughout the day and at different times in the month, but I like seeing the scale showing lower ever week or two.0

I hope I didnt give the wrong impression- I am NOT obsessed with using the scale- but I do like to weight myself every Sunday to check my progress! (it always motivates me). I just thought with such a drastic difference between the Dr's office scale vs. my home scale- that maybe I just need a new scale. I know our scale doesn't work right- sometimes when i stand on it- it says I weigh 230.... when in reality i'm around 295 right now- so depending on how you're standing it's all messed up! Thanks everyone for the advice- I was looking online and dont want to spend 150 on a scale- but i also want one that will work with SOME accuracy! hehe0
