Warrior Dash for Beginner?

Hello all
I am a 244 pound 20 year old who is 4 weeks into couch to 5k and looking to sign up for a race in SoCal around April or March as motivation. Even though I'm not extremely fit, and it's not just a 5k, but I'm sort of drawn to the idea because despite my weight I enjoy an adventure. However, I'm REALLY nervous about signing up for it, as I'm not sure my 5k would prepare me for it, and I'm a little worried about the atmosphere.
Has anyone here had experience doing a warrior dash as the "fat chick"? Do people get annoyed/call names if you're too slow on the obstacles? Is it possible to do (or advisable) for someone who will have just finished c25k when they do it?

I say go for it! There will be other people less fit than you on the course and nobody will call you names.
In fact most of these races are full of people who work as a team to help each other over obstacles as needed. Feel free to invite friends for this purpose, or ask strangers for help! You can also choose to skip certain obstacles if you find them too hard.
In terms of the running element, it will be easier than a normal 5k because you will slow down/stop at many obstacles.

hmm, do you think it's a problem if I were to do it without a team, or are most of the obstacles suitable for a solo runner?0

Most are fine for a solo runner. The few that are the most difficult you can just skip (others will do this as well).
These races start in waves, so those around you will be of similar ability level. The people you are worried about judging you will race ahead quickly at the start and wont even see you attempting the obstacles.
There will be many people there who have never ran a 5k before. You will do great:)0 -
