I have had pnemonia for a month now and the doctor specifically said not to work out until the cough is gone. Most of the cough is but I still have what they call a residual cough. I was wondering if any of you knew of any exercises that would not cause me to cough and that I could do at home. I deperately need to start working out again. Any help would be appreciated.

:flowerforyou: Maybe just start out slowly... start going for walks and see how you feel?

    Hope your all better soon!

If you are truly not sick anymore and your cough is in fact residual (just leftover mucus needing to be coughed out) then you can do light workouts. I am a respiratory therapist and work for many pulmonologist who advise this daily. Good luck and don't push yourself too hard. The coughing is good to get out all of that extra mucus but you don't want to over exert yourself and tire out too quickly.
