Unsure of Weight Loss Goal - For Mothers

My goal right now is 160 lbs, which according to a BMI chart is still one pound overweight (I like round numbers, sorry...)
Before, I'd tell you I'd want to get back down to the 130-140 range.
However, my husband and I are eager to have a baby.
At 5'7", and currently at 206lbs, is this healthy enough? How heavy were you when you got pregnant?
I plan to eat VERY healthy, and exercise, and go on a prenatal.

I'm 5'7" also and my weights pre-pregnancy ranged from 170-190. Speaking from experience, I would lose as much as you can before getting pregnant. It's a lot harder to lose weight when the baby is here :-). Also, you'll have a more comfortable pregnancy and will hopefully have learned to make positive lifestyle choices concerning your weight so that you can jump back in after the baby is born and lose the baby weight quickly. I regret not losing weight before getting pregnant.0

I'm 5'7", and I was about 138 lbs when I became pregnant with my first child. Probably around 145-150 lb when I got pregnant with my second. But the thing is, my numbers don't mean squat when it comes to you. My body isn't necessarily anything like yours, and a comfortable weight for me may be different than it is for you. You're better off talking about this with your doctor and your husband and deciding your goal from there. There is no magic "healthy" number for this. I have friends who weighed more than you do now who had perfectly healthy pregnancies and perfectly healthy kids.0

I would say start working on both. It's not like if you got pregnant tomorrow, you're so heavy it'd be dangerous or anything. I don't know what the average time to conceive is but I imagine it's several months. You could get halfway to your goal, or more if conceiving takes longer.0
