Hand Strength

I recently got a job that requires quite a bit of wrench/screwdriver work. The guys I work with tend to tighten a nut, screw, or valve so much that I cannot remove it without their help. This is seriously annoying, and not good for my macho-woman ego! I figure that it is just going to take time and repetition to build up enough strength, but it has been 3 months. Is there any exercise* that can increase my grip strength?
*Yes, I know how this sounds. I'm looking for exercises. Minds out of the gutter, please ;-)

I've seen plate pinches or farmer walks recommended to improve grip strength for deadlifts so maybe either of those?0
