Natural Sugars Vs Added Sugar?

Hello everyone, I am new to MFP and I have a question about sugar in food. In MFP sugar is just sugar regardless if it comes from a carrot or a chocolate cookie. I am a vegetarian and I find it quite difficult to reduce sugar to below the limit because if I eat lots of veggies and some fruit then my sugar from natural sources is quite a lot. I have switched to xylitol instead of sugar in my tea and of course I am looking to reduce as much as possible the added sugars in my food as well as improve my protein intake but I am inclined to not worry too much about the sugars naturally present in whole fruits and vegetables.
I would be interested to hear what others think about this matter.

That's one of the really annoying things about the app. It doesn't differentiate between natural and added sugars. I just keep a mental tab on my added sugars (and since it isn't much, it isn't hard to do) and I don't really pay attention to what the app says. I also don't worry about the sugars from fruit and veg.0

Same, I don't worry about natural sugar, when I bake I use less sugar then required and no sugar in tea or coffee.0
