Farting when doing sit ups.

Anyone else get this problem? I do sit ups every day, and every time I lift myself up I let er rip. I can't help it and it's embarrassing not to mention it smells. It's why I make sure nobody is around me when I do them but sometimes people literally stretch right next to me (like today).

Please help, what can I do to stop this!?

    I just wear headphones so I can't hear it.

    It sounds like you're working out at a gym? Can you do the other part of your workout at the gym and do your sit ups at home? Outside of eliminating things that give you gas in your diet or ceasing to do sit ups, I'd recommend GasX, more water, and a trip to the bathroom first.

    Alternately, there are quite a few other exercises that work the same muscles as sit ups that can be done without the extra grunt action. Good luck!
