Determining the "last" 10 lbs and slowing down loss

Right now my goal weight is 120 lbs. I was going to see how I felt after that and then determine if I would like to try to lose more, maybe get to 110.

So my question is if that is the case and I am supposed to increase my deficit to losing 0.5 lbs/week around the time I only have 10 to lose, when do you really decide to make that switch? I want to be smart about the change to help in maintenance but do not want to slow the process unnecessarily.

You may need to increase the Deficit as you just need less calories in general i.e your maintenance value is far less, If you try to slow down weight loss you may just stop weight loss.

I am 5'1, 32, currently 147.4. I work out six days a week using Jillian Michaels for at least four of those days and I try to run two of those days but lately it has been more like one. If I miss a run I do one of her cardio DVDs instead. As I mentioned my first goal is 120 and I was going to reassess.

with an ultimate goal of 110, working out 6x/week

    Your BMR is: 1147

    Your TDEE is: 1728

it is safe to say you can eat around 1200-1300 5x/week
then on weekends you can eat up to 1700ish when going out with family , friends or celebrations.

allow yourself once a week to eat anything you want up to 1700ish. make sure it fits your MFP macro settings.

patience is also key to reach that ultimate goal.

Thanks. That sounds about right. I have been using the MFP formula with a net of 1200 so with exercise I get between 1450-1600 to eat back. I only have a day I eat over every few weeks since we are stopped eating out as much. Thanks for the info!
