How did you injure it? How long has it been injured?

I have gotten this pain now for years. This time it started yesterday holding my babyfor a long time. I am guessing i have a weak back

Ice and ibuprofen to start. If it doesn't improve in a few days, see your doctor.

When you're able to exercise, movements that strengthen the core will help your back. Leg presses, squats, bridges, planks, etc. Start slow or you'll risk making it worse. If it's more than just minor soreness and you think you've got an acute injury, it would be best to get a referral to a physical therapist (after doc rules out more serious causes of back pain).

Core exercise (with a trainer) and a good Osteopath has helped me a lot with the same problem. I have suffered for years.

See this new page of one of my websites www.simplebackpain.com, (just completed yesterday!)
Although not quite about what you say, it sounds as if you might have a lower rib problem. See http://www.simplebackpain.com/upper-back-pain-when-breathing.html
