Well hi there! :)

Hi. Name is Bittyers. :) I'm 26 y/o & ready for change! Joined MFP in 2011 but quit probably after a month or so. One of my best friends started changing her life which encouraged my change.

I've been overweight my whole life, never knowing what skinny...or healthy...is. My HW was...262 if memory serves. Lowest weight that I can truly remember is in the 170's.

I've been on my journey since January 1st. Cheesy, typical, whatever you want to call it. But for the first time in my life, it all feels different. It's not a huge challenge or struggle to stay within my goals. It's not devastating to have a bad day. I don't want to quit when I go over my calories. I have enjoyed waking up each morning to see what I can do different today to keep a little variety in my life.

I've never had this particular mindset before. I've always had huge, unattainable goals or I was trying to lose the weight for someone in my life. Now this is all for me. I want to do this because it's time to be healthy. Not because it's the cool thing to do, because it's the beginning of the year, or because I feel like someone needs me to do this.

Don't get me wrong, my ultimate goal is definitely huge. But it no longer seems unattainable. And what I'm doing right now will get me there eventually. It doesn't have to be tomorrow or next week. I just have to keep making progress. One foot in front of the other. When I have a bad day & end up taking a step or two back, it's not going to derail me.

I'm excited. I can't wait to see where the rest of this journey takes me. 2014 is my year. I will get out of it what I want because I will put into it what I need.

All the best on your journey. This is my 3rd week on MFP, and reading the posts I see over and over that weight loss is about consistently creating a calorie deficit. I agree, but to do that has a lot to do with what goes on in our heads, the right mind set ... run with it...

Good luck! If you can maintain that attitude, you'll get where you want to be..................

What are you working on as far as weight loss?

If you want great results, try low carb. I'm doing the Ketogenic diet, and it is by far the best one I have done. I did it back in 2011 and relapsed for 2012 (I had lost 105 pounds in about 7 months, and gained it all back). I'm back a second time around since the 1st, and I am currently down 25 pounds. Add me as a friend, and I can help you out!
