Ketogenic diet?

I am attempting a ketogenic diet (low carb, high fat) in hopes of curing my migraines. I've been on pills since I was 12 to prevent migraines and none have worked. I've got nothing to lose in giving this diet a shot, but I stand to gain a lot.
I'm limiting my carb intake to about 100 grams a day. Today I "cheated" when my boyfriend suggested we go to my favorite wing joint and I'm now paying the price.
Has anyone else had success in this kind of diet? Do you have a favorite low-carb recipe you could share?

I did it in 2011 and lost about 105lbs in 7 months. Gained it all back in 2012 when I fell off the wagon (stress, depression, etc.)
I'm back on it this year. I started on 1/1/2014 weighing in at 458.8. Today I am at 433 (25ish pounds in 20 days)
The diet works. But you have to follow the correct macros. 65% Fat, 35% protein, 5% carbs. Essentially, you need to consume 20g of carbs or less a day. (Some people can vary, I have seen as high as 50-75g) the point is to switch your body from using carbs as a fuel source, to Fat. The process is called Ketosis. I suggest sticking to 20-30g a day. It isn't hard, except for the first 2 weeks. The first few days you might have "keto flu" which is essentially your body's way of withdrawing from carbs. You will be irritable, have flu like symptoms, etc. It could last 2 weeks, so that is why I said the hardest part is the first 2 weeks. After that, your body becomes more adapted to using ketones as fuel source.
If you really want to get into it, there is a subreddit on reddit.com www.reddit.com/r/keto

P.S. Add me as a friend. I can help you with Keto if you are serious about it, and there are others on my friendslist from /r/keto who are supportive as well.0
