I am a graduate student who started last week... I typically work out an hour a day (kickboxing, step, zumba) and walk for around 40-50 minutes (between classes and to my apartment). How many calories do you think I should eat to lose 1-1.2 pounds a week? My TDEE (sedentary) is 1760.

You need to put the details in your profile and let it work it out for you. You need a deficit of 500 cals per day to lose 1lb a week approx. the system will work out your calorie needs, how much deficit to lose 2lbs a week then add your exercise and eat what is left. Eg if you need 1700 cals to exist, take off 700 to lose 2lbs a week, add 1 hour swimming 400 cals and you can eat 1400 each day (these are guest figures just to give you an idea.) hope this helps

1.2 pounds a week is a very precise aim - weight doenst come off nice and neatly.
Eating somewhere between your BMT and your TDEE should result in weight loss. So I would aim for around 1500-1600 per day and see how that goes.
Remember that all these calcualtions are just estimates.0
