Help! Nothing I do to lose weight seems to work!

Hi everyone. I have been logging in to MFP on and off for 2 years. I have seen nutritionists, doctors, tried every diet known to man, and even didn't lose a pound on 400 calories a dayon the Cambridge diet! Even my GP couldn't understand that!
I have lived with a lot of stress i my life for 10 years, and have been on a high dose of steroids for the past 9 months. Cue horrendous weight gain, even though I am careful and try and log most days. A nutritionist told me I had a good diet and to eat MORE. Nope. Put weight on. I am gluten and wheat intolerant and have struggled with water retention and bloating for years, and now on top of being ill I have broken ther navicular bone in my foot so am plastered and in a wheelchair for another 8 weeks having already done 5. So.... I could scream!!!!!
I hate myself and don't like looking in the mirror. I know I need to be kinder to myself as my body has been through a lot, including 3 miscarriages, and recently I have been very ill. The positives are that I am tailing off the steroids now, and should be able to gently exercise in a couple of months, but my frustration is that I have such a hard time losing weight always, and the slightest thing gains me lbs and lbs. I was followed by my GP for a year and she said I had a healthier diet than her on the whole, and she felt sorry for me. Great!
Has anyone else had this problem? I am over 260lbs now and have always been heavy, even when I was very slim as a teenager, so I am not worried about fitting into the BMI scale as I never have. I just don't want to look and be fat, and I am now after this medication. I haven't eaten loads, have religiously fought the cravings when I was on a high dose, and am terrified it will not come off when I can exercise again.
We now live overseas and I have a demanding job with very early starts and don't sleep well. But I am happier than I have been in years with my lot in life. I have a gorgeous 6 year old son and am re-building my relationship with my husband afetr a stressful time. We have a much better life now so there are many positives. I am just sick of watching every morsel that goes in my mouth and getting nowhere!
Has anyone else had this problem? Any advice would be gratefully received.
Good luck on your journeys!
