HRM users :)

I have been here for 3 years but I deleted my old account because my head wasn't in the game anymore. I gained 35lb from my lowest adult weight in the last year. I'm down to a 52lbs loss instead of my 87...ugh! Its time to change! After a 2 month hiatus, I think I am ready to be active on this site again. My husband and I have been talking about making a new start by moving from Maine to Texas or New Orleans in the next 4-12 months. My Golden retriever might be pregnant *crosses fingers* so that's at least another 4 months before she can travel. I want us all to be healthy when we make this transition.

After years of experience on mfp I have decided that I am going to be a little more selective with my friends. Its nothing personal if you don't really fit with my personality. I just want to feel encouraged when I log on every day. It started to get to me after years of commenting on everyone's statuses and most of them didn't show any support back. So this is what I am looking for:

People who are active every day on mfp. If doesn't have to be all day, just enough to pop on and comment on friends statuses. If your on vaca or have a busy weekend that's fine if you cant those days too. I've been there. The thing is that I'm not your momma and the only satisfaction I need is to see you succeed without getting anything back in return.

Friends must have an HRM. Its one of those pet peeves of mine. Its very frustrating to me when I have an HRM that accurately measures my calories burned and I work out for 2 hours straight maintaining a HR of 155-160 the whole time and someone who doesn't have one logs the same amount of calories for 30 minutes of 3.0 mph walking. It simply invalidates my hard work.

Someone who is positive and supportive. We all have bad days and its completely okay to be negative every one in a while but that should not be your main attitude. If you swear, are looking for a hookup or bring others down...don't even bother. Save it for eharmony.

Much love.

I'm trying to figure out what heart rate monitor to get myself, may I ask which one you are using?

You shouldn't let the people who overestimate their calories burned invalidate the hard work you have done. What other people do has no affect on you. You are on myfitnesspal for you, not for the random strangers on this site. If they overestimate their burn, its there problem

I hate to break it to you, but your heart rate monitor is probably over estimating your burns as well. They are pretty notorious for that. Before I got my FitBit I would use this website: shapesense.com to calculate my gross burn, and then my NET burn. You might want to try it one time and see if your heart rate monitor numbers jive.

HR monitors have to be better than MFP estimates. I'm obsessed with mine & I think it's a wonderful motivator!
