Lose lb by eating only cake? why not?

Okay so I know it's BAD to eat only twinkies and cake and candy etc. We should not eat these things to fill our calorie goals, it is BAD.

I know it 's bad and unhealthy. I would NEVER eat only cake.

But why wouldn't it work to lose weight? I KNOW I'd end up feeling like crap and very unhealthy if I only ate cake.

But if I stayed within my calorie goals; why wouldn't I lose weight? or would I?

    I think you would! It is all about calories vs calories out. When I first started on my weight loss journey 80lbs ago I ate mostly unhealthy! I do WW and always stayed within my "points" and lost 60 lbs. I then began making the switch to healthy eating. So to answer your question...... yes, I think you can lose weight by eating only cake.

    i think you would lose weight - to lose you just have to take in less calories than you burn - so taking in less calories in any form could result in weight loss

    Hi!

    By eating only cakes you'll find difficult to stick to an appropriate carbs level, and you have to know that the excess of carbs in the blood is converted in fat.

    But if you can achieve doing cakes with a low level of carbs, why not give it a try ^^

    Well all I can say is a Twinkie could probably sit on a shelve next to a carton of McDonald's french fries and look exactly the same a year from now. For that reason alone I think some calories are more then other calories.:sick:

    You will lose weight if you stay within the calorie target, if you burn more than you eat ,you will lose weight it is simple science.
    The problem would be a lack of protein & Vitamins & minerals & too much fat and carbs. your body will only use the fat and carbs it needs from the cake & look for the other things it needs from else where (i.e. muscle tissue). so you would end up losing muscle & gaining fat.

    also you might get hungry as cake has a lot of fat, and you don't get as much volume of food for your fat ...

    1g protein = 4 Cals
    1g Carbs = 4 Cals
    1g Fat = 8 Cals
    (or there abouts)

    so as you can see you get less food for your calories were fat is involved!

    but yes you would still lose weight, but from the wrong source

    I think you can still lose whilst just eating cake if you have a lot to lose. However, what you are eating matters a lot more when you get to the last 10 pounds.

    When you think of weight loss and losing weight, the first things that probably come to your mind are either those "lose weight fast !!" articles that are in every magazine and newspaper in the world that never work and are written by some personal training idiot that has no idea what they're talking about... or maybe you're thinking of all of those weight loss pills that claim to be safe and allow you to "eat whatever you want and still lose weight because the pill will do all of the work for you" or whatever stupid line they are using to get you to buy their useless unsafe weight loss product. Or, maybe you're thinking of rice cakes and never eating and being hungry all day long.

    Well, if you are thinking any of those things, forget it! Forget all of it!

    What I am about to give you is totally FREE, detailed, easy to understand information on weight loss and losing weight and how to lose weight and fat without using any type of pill or supplement, without using some "fitness magazine" diet, and by eating not 1, not 2, not 3, but 5 meals a day! Sound impossible? Sound too good to be true? Sound like I'm going to make you buy my "book" or order my "product" first before I tell you? Well I'm not! I don't have a book and I don't a have product. I am not trying to sell you a damn thing! What I am trying to do, no... what I am GOING to do, is tell you exactly how you can lose weight. Enjoy...

    Weight loss is simple, burn more calories then you consume. If you can fully understand that then you are on your way to losing weight. There are 6 simple steps. Here they are:

    1) Count how many calories you eat in a normal day. That's right, wake up, and eat like you would normally eat and count the calories in everything you eat and everything you drink and keep track of it on a piece of paper or on the computer some where. You might be thinking to yourself, "yeah right, I'm not gonna sit around counting calories all day." Well, if you're thinking that, then you're obviously not dedicated enough to losing weight. If this is the case, then feel free to go waste your money on the newest useless weight loss pill. But, if you are dedicated enough to take 10 minutes out of your day and count the calories, then keep on reading.

    2) At the end of that day, add up the number of calories you ate/drank. Be as exact as possible. Once you add it all up, you now have the total number of calories you consume daily. Also, weigh yourself.

    3) Starting the day after you counted calories, eat 500 calories LESS then you normally do. So, lets pretend that the day you counted calories you counted 2000. For the rest of the week, you would eat 1500 calories a day. Understand? All you have to do is subtract 500 from the total number of calories you consume in a normal day, and eat this new number of calories every day for the next 7 days.

    4) Instead of eating 3 big meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner), or eating all day all the time, spread those calories out over 5 smaller meals. Eat one meal every 2 and a half to 3 hours. Doing this will speed up your metabolism.

    5) Cardio. Cardio is an important part of weight loss. If you're serious about losing weight, but don't want to do the cardio workouts, then you are requiring your diet to do all of the work. Jog, walk, swim, jump rope, ride a bike, take an aerobics class, whatever... cardio + proper diet = better than just doing one of the two. All it takes is 30 minutes a day, 3 - 5 days a week. I say 3-5 days a week because I don't know if you have 5 pounds to lose, or if you have 50 pounds to lose. So, depending on how much your looking to lose, figure it out. 3 times a week is good starting point though. (For information on the most effective time of the day to do your cardio workout, read doing cardio for maximum weight loss)

    6) At the end of that week, weigh yourself. You'll notice a difference just after one week! Now, don't expect to see a 20 pound difference. Losing anymore then 1 or 2 pounds a week is unhealthly. So look for a 1 or 2 pound weight loss at the end of the week. Don't sound like much? You can lose 5-8 pounds a month! That's around 75lbs a year! So if you have A LOT of weight to lose, you can lose it. If have just a few pounds to lose, you can lose it.

    Important weight loss tips for losing weight effectively! (extremely important!)

    - THE BAD FAT MUST GO! Stay away from "bad" fat! Get rid of all the chips and candy. No more fast food, nothing fried. No more cookies, no more cake, no more of these saturated fats. There is no question about it and there is no way around it, get rid of these types of foods. Don't get me wrong, you should NOT be eating 0 grams of fat every day, but the only places you should be getting your daily fat intake from are lean meats (not the fried fast food kind), chicken (again, not fried!), etc. as well as the foods that contain the "healthy" types of fat, which can be found in just about every type of fish (tuna fish, salmon, fish oil supplements, etc.), nuts, olive oil and flaxseed oil.

    - LOWER THE BAD CARBS! Most people think that it is fat that makes people fat and that just by eating less fat, they are on their way to weight loss! WRONG! Certain carbs can be just as bad as fat when it comes to losing weight. Limit foods high in bad carbs. These carbs will eventually turn into fat. Foods like sugar, white bread, rice, pasta, potatoes, etc. are high in simple (bad) carbs. Sure, your body needs carbs, which is why foods like these are ok to eat, but don't go overboard.     I'm pretty sure there are a bunch of really bad fat and carbs in a cake only diet. So, would you lose weight? That would remain to be seen. One thing is absolutely certain, id that kind of diet were maintained, you would be so unhealthy that your body would probably start to react in a very negative way and then you would be very ill.


    The truth is that there is no "easy way" to lose weight. It takes a lot of weight and for an effective weight loss to work and be maintained, you must eat healthy, exercise to build muscle and endurance, and develop a healthy lifestyle in general. Only cake does not reflect those three elements.

    I college, I lost weight from eating only candy bars one time. I didn't do it on purpose. There was a big promotion for Mars Bars in New York City and they were handing them out on street corners. Every time I would walk by one of those people, I would take one and slide it in my purse so the next person would give me another one. I must have accumulated 50 of the things.

    The next week, I think, I ran short of money so I started eating Mars bars for every meal except dinner. I lost weight. I felt GROSS and I couldn't even LOOK at a candy bar for years. I think was on the "Mars Plan" for a week before I finally got some my pay check.

    You totally would lose weight on cake only...but if you have the determination to stick to a "cake only" diet, I think you have more than enough willpower to do it the healthy way...

    It would work because after a while, you would just look at the cake and decide you would rather not eat than eat cake again.

    Yes, you would still loose weight. You're nutrition would be unbalanced, so you'd be at greater risk of regaining the weight, but yes, you could loose weight that way.

    Previously when I was loosing weight about 5 years ago, I had a week when all I wanted was ice cream, so that's all I ate. 2 pints of blue bell ice cream a day (about 1600 calories) was all I ate that week, and still kept loosing weight. I only let myself do that for a week, don't want stuff like that to become a habit.

    In my own situation, I am on 1200 calories per day, which is enough if I eat good wholesome food, but it would not be enough if I were to eat a piece of cake that would be around 400 calories. That 400 calories would be much better spent, for me, on a meal, because the cake would fill me for approximately 20 minutes and then, because it was high in carbs, I would crave more and more. Whereas a meal worth 400 calories with a lot of protein in would fill me up for approximately five hours and I would not crave anything.

    and THAT is the reason I would choose nutritional food over cakes anytime.

    I worked in a bakery and ate cake or something sweet everyday for a really long time. On Sunday, (my day off) all of the sudden my brain would be like, "Where's CAKE? NEED CAKE!"

    Yes, I gained weight. It was not good. Your body starts to totally crave that fat and sugar and you feel helpless.

    But the real reason you shouldn't eat only cake is that you will get so sick of it and never want to eat it again.
    That would be very sad :sad:
