HRM/Polar FT7 Question re: weightlifting

Quick question. Just tried my new Polar FT7 HRM today. Burnt 417 on a 30 minute elliptical. I know I have to eat all of those back. Just for fun, I used it to watch how many calories I burnt during my 45min weightlifting session. Now, that was trickier cause it was pause and go... pause and go. Not sure how accurate it really was so my question for you experienced pros out there is, should I count those calories as exercise calories and eat them back or just focus on the elliptical calories burnt since it was an unpaused session?

HRM are not accurate for weightlifting. I still use mine during weightlifting, just because that is how I track my time at the gym and total active time, but I don't eat those calories back. You could track the weightlifting (if you write down everything) thru the site if you are that worried about an exact calorie count.
Have fun with your Polar I love mine!0 -
HRM are only accurate for steady state cardio. So not very useful for weight lifting. I do still wear mine and record the calories on MFP but I do not eat those calories back.0
