  • i've thought about it before but for me personally, i didn't find it necessary. i'm a boredom eater and just need to be conscious about my decisions about WHEN i eat/HOW MUCH i eat.

some people find it really helpful though - especially for smoking cessation, anxiety, etc. honestly, i'd love to try hypnosis for flight anxiety...

    Hi :)

I did try it. I bought Susan Hepburn's book with CD and used it every day for a long time. It gave me a good headstart and put me into the routine of eating healthily and getting some exercise (whether structured, like a workout DVD, or just by moving more with walking and such). Once I was in that routine, I didn't need to use the CD. And listening to it over and over made me just hear the gross stuff like her saliva when she began a word. I also found it a little patronising to begin with because she made it sound like I was beginning my journey and that I was completely lost whereas all I needed was a little kick up the backside. Obviously it was just a CD which she gave away with the book so it wasn't tailored.

I'd encourage going to a hypnotist for one session, if it doesn't set you back too much cash, because you might get a more tailored experience that will benefit you. It helped me to begin with so I don't see why it shouldn't help you :)

I've had hyposis for insomnia and it worked a treat, so yes I'd definitely give it a go if I could afford it, & especially since your place has good reviews - the key is to find someone that really knows what they're doing, & has not just been on a 2-week course. My guy was a qualified MD who had been trained in hypnosis techniques.

I go to a hypnotist who is also a doctor. I have several issues I want to deal with, so I bought a 12 week deal. We haven't tackled the weight loss issue yet. But, so far so good on the issues we"ve dealt with (I've only been two times). It's going to take more than one visit even though you would only be going for weight loss because the first visit is mainly just talking about what you want out of your hypnosis and what he/she thinks will work for you. You actually don't go "under" you just get really relax. But, you know what is going on the whole time. Good luck!!
