So I bought a whey protein powder today, Designer Whey French Vanilla. Just mixed one up - 1 scoop with 3oz water. Just 3oz?! Okay, so I put more water in but not too much. It was absolutely disgusting. Any better prep suggestions?!

Mix with 8oz milk and maybe a banana or some other fruit. I like the fruit frozen. And sometimes I'll add more ice too.
Oh, and mixing it with a blender seems to help make sure there aren't any pockets of death. haha0 -
I make smoothies with my protein powder. The only one that I like at all is the AMP from GNC.0

I add 1/2 cup of skim milk, 1/2 cup water and one tsp of instant coffee and ice to my protein powder and then blend0

It's hard for me to drink the stuff, I've tried at least 40 different ones, I don't like any of them. My trick, I stir it into my oatmeal in the morning, I also stir it into my yogurt that I top with frozen berries as a snack, I put it into the mayo/tuna combo that I have in my lettuce wraps....I stir it into my cottage cheese at night, Very rare do I ever drink it.0

I use Nescafe Instant powdered coffee, the type you add hot water to and it dissolves. Your so cute, you made me laugh. There are no stupid questions here.0 -
It's hard to find one that tastes good mixed with water! I've got a great one, but think it's only available in Australia (I'll check).
If it's no good by itself, use it as an addition to a smoothie (as others have mentioned) - a great one is water, protein powder, half a banana, 1/2 cup berries (blueberries are awesome!), 1 teaspoon of peanut butter (the natural one is best - just peanuts with with nothing added) or almond butter, and a big handful of spinach.
Trust me - the spinach is great. It doesn't really change the taste but adds a stack of nutrients. It makes the smoothie a bit of a gross colour but just don't look too hard at it!0 -

SICK! I would NEVER drink that in plain water LOL. I use 1 cup of fat free milk, a tbsp of peanut butter, ice, and a scoop of protein powder, all mixed in the blender to make a shake. MMM0

I switched to 4EverFit Whey Protein Isolate Tropical Blast. I added this protein in the MFP database so it should be in the drop down menu. It has 100 calories per scoop with 24 gr of protein. I blend it in 4 oz of Ocean Spray Diet Cranberry-Grape Juice (only 5 cal per serving) plus 4 oz of water. I also add some frozen fruit, mainly strawberries and ice cube.
It is very tasty, even my husband likes it!0 -

I use tha jillian micheals whey protein creaamy vanilla....I make smoothies with mine....8oz of skim milk 1 cup of frozen fruit of your choice 1 scoop of protein powder an i add 2tsp of equal 4 sweetness an blend......sooooo good in tha mornings or just 4 a snack:drinker:0

mix it with Atkins shakes
get creative..buy a Ninja food processor..it mixes anything so smoth...you could put rocks in it and it would make them smoth0 -

I use Herbalife french vanilla. I mix it with it with different things. The other day I mixed it with 1c. Apple cider and cinnamon and 1c. vanilla soy. It tasted like I was eating a piece of apple pie. Yummmm! I am sure any brand protein powder will be just as good. You might just have to experiment a bit. I always find that crushed ice makes everything I blend in the blender taste a bit better, too!

you have one of the best tasting protein out there! But i would never ever ever mix it with water.. oh gross!! lol . I use skim milk or almond milk and add some fruit or some natural peanut butter!0

Syntha 6 is a very yummy protein shake!
Even when you mix it with water it's not too bad. But when I use it as a meal replacement, I add milk0 -
I've tried a bazillion different protein powders in my 14 years as a trainer and have yet to find a vanilla that I can stomach mixed with just water or milk. EAS makes a chocolate that is pretty good in milk, but I wouldn't use it in just water, either. When I use vanilla, I mix it with a couple of frozen fruits and some 100% juice. My favorite combo is 8 ounces orange juice, half a dozen frozen strawberries, and a banana. But seriously, you can pick whatever fruits and juices you like and add a scoop of protein powder to up the protein content and lower the glycemic response.0

So, I actually have the kind you have and Herbalife in my cabinet right now... as many have said, dont drink it with water. That version is not for the faint of heart lol... I use my Herbalife for my shakes since I have over 50 recipes for those protein powers. I use my Whey protein in my oatmeal and sometimes as an extra scoop of protein to my Herbalife shakes.0

Actually, now that I think back, I'm thinking I tried it with water the first time. LOL The first time I bought it I had to ask everyone what to do with it and when to use it. :laugh:0 -
Alright guys heres an update.. I am drinking a shake right now.
1 scoop of Designer Whey French Vanilla Protein
1.5 c skim milk
1 c coffee
and TON of ice.
There's also a scoop of RF crunchy Pb bc i wasnt going to add the coffee bc i thought the powder, milk, and pb would taste good on its own (it didn't..)
Its stomach-able. MUCH better than just water.
Also, I just found a site with a ton of recipes, let me know if youre interested!0
