Gymophobics Gyms: Anyone had any experience?

I'm joining tonight with my mum! Feeling excited but not sure what to expect. Someone told me its "not a sweaty" workout, but that kinda disappoints me, however I have seen some amazing results on people who have been heavy all their lives.

Anyone know what to expect from the induction day, or any other tips, I would be grateful :)

Thanks :)

Not sweaty? That's kind of a weird comment for someone to make. It depends on what you are doing. When I run, I sweat like a full grown man, which is semi-embarrassing. It just means I am working hard. When I use weights, I do sweat less...a lot less. I'm working hard though, and my muscles literally burn some days.

The sweaty factor is more of an individual issue. Me and this one guy at the gym sweat like nobody's business...and that guy is INCREDIBLY fit.

Perhaps the person who said that too me thinks I'm work shy, which I am bloody well not!

But it think they were referring to it being all resistance training or something? (No idea what that means)

I shall report form my visit later today!

I used to sweat like crazy big beetroot face. The induction is normally just taking your hight weight figure out your BMI and set you up goals and suggest machines to help you lose weight and tone. You will be fine, I liked to just get in head down and get it done. I didn't notice many other people so the prob didn't notice me. Are you wanting to meet new people while there.

I was shown the various weight resistance machines, shown how to set them for my body, and given starting weight to use on each. Easy peasy.....no worries.....have fun on this part of your adventure!! :flowerforyou:

Signed up yesterday, start tonight! Very excited. Was shown around a little but have an hour tonight where they take weight, bmi, measurements etc and build my circuit.

    Looks awesome, can't wait :)
