Is there a way to undo sodium intake?

If I go over my daily calorie allowance I can exercise until I correct the overage. What if I go over my sodium allowance? Is there anything I can do to correct that?

Thanks!

    You can counter it.

I'm on a restricted sodium diet due to high blood pressure. My doctor said if I go over 1500 miligrams, I am to drink extra water to keep flushing my system and go for a walk or light jog to work up a sweat so that it can be excreted through my pores as well as my kidneys.

I've heard from a few places that potassium can actually help counter the effects of too much sodium.

eat potassium rich food such as spinach, potatoes, bananas etc.
  • Sweating it out, drinking lots of water (with lemon), potassium rich foods. I have to stick to 1500mg a day due to high blood pressure which is tough, so when I go over, I just focus on my water and getting a good cardio sweat in the next few days.
