Changing up exercise routine

I have been working out to a video that I find really fun for the past few weeks. It is a high energy full body workout with all types of moves and it also keeps my feet moving the whole time so it has cardio. It has squats, lunges, hip moves, isolated ribcage movements, stretching, leg curls, dance moves, jogging, jumping, and lots of arm movements. There is also a part with crunches, pushups and planks. I keep reading that it is important to change up exercise routines but with doing something that really moves the whole body do I need to change up what I’m doing? I can do the whole thing on auto pilot but my heart rate is still up and even though I know what is coming next I can’t quite keep up in some parts. I’d love to know what you all think about using one good workout verse changing your workout every few days or weeks. Thanks for your help!

When it comes to a home workout program I still change things up BUT I only change it up when I finish the program. If it is indeed a program, there should be a start and finish schedule. I'll typically do the entire program, move on to another program, and then with my very favourite programs I'll just go back and do it again.

That being said, if you're seeing progress and have been doing this for quite some time then it's obviously working for you! :) Sometimes just going back and starting from the beginning again is enough of a change for your body. Pay attention to your body and YOUR progress and move forward accordingly! :)

    Feel free to add me!

I'm a martial artist, and anyone familiar with it knows that there's a set series of movements you learn in most styles. (I do karate, so we call it kata.) I know 70 sets of kata, each consisting of at least one stance, one block, and one kick or punch, and in my style all 70 are strung together into a continuous stream. SO. While I very rarely change things up, it's safe to say I am ALWAYS getting a full-body workout that is almost impossible to have become too easy, because your stretch is always changing, or your power is improving, and your muscles are having to adjust to all of this to keep you steady. And if it gets too easy, I slow it down or speed it up to get a completely different type of workout. :)

So while I don't "change things up".... I do SORT of change things up, lol.
