Thanks MFP

I sat down to eat my lunch and 1/2 way through I started logging my intake. I had to throw away the rest. I was very surprised how quickly it added up. Todays me threw away 1/2 a flour tortilla and only ate 1 and 1/2. It was too late to do better. The rest of the day I will have to adjust to do damage controI! Thanks MFP

    Whoa. You could've shared!

In all seriousness, what is your calorie goal and what were the calories in your meal?

I nearly fell over when I learned how many calories are in a simple tortilla. And here I thought back in the day that choosing the "wrap" over the "sandwich" made it healthy and all...

Pre-logging helps a lot. Pre-logging also keeps you from having to throw away perfectly good food! Seriously, as you pre-log you can play around with it so you'll hopefully have meals that are filling, nutritious and under your calorie goal!

Did you create those recipes for the Spanish rice and refried beans yourself? I make both of those things from scratch quite frequently and my Spanish rice is less than a 1/3 of the calories for the same amount and my beans are less as well. I wouldn't trust someone else's "homemade" entry.

Yes! I buy these, or an offbrand (fit and active makes one) if I can find it, just so I don't have to skimp on the parts of the wrap/burrito that I really like.

Thank you! Sorry I commented and ran, kids! ;) I see, that makes sense. I second attempting to pre log your day, it really makes a difference, even if you leave a few holes for later! Also, I love X treme wellness Ole tortilla shells, definitely worth a look!

Nope - eat a nice healthy dinner and don't worry if you're in the red. One day won't hurt.

These things happen - just learn from it and move on. Tomorrow you can eat a lower calorie lunch so you have more calories for dinner.

I have a breakfast scheduled in a couple weeks that will probably be my entire days calories plus some. I'm going to still eat dinner that day (and do a good workout) and I'm not even going to stress about it.
