Weight loss and fitness plateau'd.. help??

I've set out to lose only about 10-15 lbs, mainly to slim, firm and tone, but I feel like I'm stuck: I've lost about 6-7 lbs and can't seem to push further. I did participate in a weight loss program a couple years back and I think around this point they had me change my diet with an incremental increase in calories. Any suggestions?
Also, I'd like to spot tone my stomach/waist and thighs, if anyone wants to throw 2 cents in on that as well..
Thanks members!

Opening your diary will help. Also what is your fitness/exercise routine? Are you strength training? How much weight are you trying to lose each week?
I'm sorry I have more questions than answers at this point but to reply with a responsible answer I need more information.0 -
The problem is you are a cat with very little weight to lose...try to not eat the tails0

You have three options and it is this simple or hard:
1. Eat a little less
2. Move a little more
3. A combination of 1 and 2.0 -
I start the day with 25 minutes on an upright cycle with interval changes in resistance then spend about 10 minutes stretching. In the evening, about an hour prior to bed, I do about 15-20 minutes of calisthenics including 2 sets of planks, lunges and squats. I haven't included any weights yet - I was just considering that or resistance bands, but I'm also recovering from my second knee surgery so I have to take some things slow.0

so true, if i'm eating more i increase my exercise...if i'm not able to exercise I eat less....this really is just to maintain and not gain. But when i combine the two i begin to lose weight. only way to go.0

The amount you want to lose along with the desire to "spot" tone suggests the dreaded "e" word, exercise. And it'll need to be something that strengthens muscles not just cardio. That doesn't necessarily mean weights (although the strength training with weights has some other benefits), you can get some toning benefits from yoga, Pilates, Kickboxing class, etc. Yes, you can eat at a deficit and lose some if not all the weight but you'll not tone that way. You can add cardio so you can guarantee you're eating at a deficit but again, the cardio chosen may not tone.
I agree with a lot of people out there that you can't "spot" tone. The muscles work together so to tone your stomach, you may need to do exercises that also tone your legs and/or your arms.
Opening your diary would help with suggestions on how to lose the extra little bit and if you religiously log your exercise too, then it might help with specific suggestions on types of exercises.0 -

I'm telling you. This is really the only way. You can also try adding some calories back into your diet for a couple of weeks. You won't lose any weight during this time. Then go back to the amount of calories you was eating at to see if you start losing weight. If this doesn't work. It is time to try the first three things.0 -
I'm burning about 600 calories per day with my "moving" and only eating 1200 calories, It's very possible I'm not eating enough..0

You can do all the ab/leg work you want but its not going to "spot tone" anything unless you have a balanced diet in place. Abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym.
You cant spot reduce any area of the body. Fat comes off where ever it wants to come off. Its a sad fact and one I bemoan but keep it up so I can eventually get there.
That being said, find a sensible calorie reduction amount and eat that, get some exercise (lift weights also) and the pounds will come off, as will the fat. When the fat goes away, the muscles and abs will be in play.0 -

You might be right, I think my fur makes me look a little chunky, maybe I need a haircut..0 -
i also will do a low carb diet to get a jump start. i started that this week and lost 6.5 lbs already, a lot of it is water but I feel better and it motivates me to keep going. i'll probably do it for 2 weeks and then add fruit and complex carbs to diet at that point.0

I would never have believed how slowly the last few pounds come off until I got there myself. Get fast weight loss out of your head, especially if you want to change the shape of your body. You're looking at 1/2-1 pound per week maximum right now along with a good progressive resistance training routine. It's going to be painfully slow but you'll get the results you're looking for this way.0
