So many compliments :n)

Yesterday my parents had their annual party. They invite the whole family and some friends, as well, and we all get together and have a picnic and play guitars and drink, and just generally have a good time.
I don't see a lot of these people too often. I'm not on FaceBook anymore, so it's been a while since many of them have even seen pictures of me.
I'd bet that I got at least 10 compliments yesterday on my progress.
I heard, "Wow, you look really great!", and "You're so skinny!", and, "You really look beautiful!" Really, just every compliment that you could think of.
My one uncle isn't much of a talker as it is, and he's really not an "open" person, generally. He's the quiet type, who you know cares about you, but he just keeps to himself. So I was a bit surprised when he patted me on the back yesterday and said, "So it looks like you've been to Margaritaville."
I hadn't drank at all, so I was confused. I laughed and said, "Huh?"
He said, "You're wasting away again."
 I said, "I'm working on it."
I don't honestly think I've gotten so many compliments at one time in my whole life. Granted, a lot of the people (probably most if not all) *knew* that I'd been working on my weight loss, but they had hte option of saying nothing if I didn't look any different. It's really nice to get complimented by so many people on something that I've worked so hard at.
The difficult part is that nobody wanted to be complimented back.
"You look beautiful!" They'd say.
"Well thank you! So do you!" I would reply.
"Oh please, whatever." They'd really laugh at me for saying so.
"Hey! I'm really being genuine." I'd reply. Then they'd shrug and shake their heads and say, "Thanks, I guess." or something like that.
Just because I've lost weight, doesn't mean that anyone else looks any less beautiful to me.
It was a lovely day, and it felt really nice to be complimented so well. I just wish that other people wouldn't feel so self conscious about themselves now, because of how I look now....
