Not enough carbs/ Too much protein

I've been noticing in my tracking that I never get nearly enough of my recommended carbs and generally go over some in protein. What I'm wondering is if this is problematic in some way? I still meet my 1200 calorie goal, but avoid calorie heavy breads and such. I much prefer lean meats to fill up on. Should I adjust my intake or is this no big issue?

Thanks in advance!

If you feel satisfied with the way you've been eating, then I think it's fine. The protein goal that MFP sets is considered low anyway, so going over it is a good thing. I have my macros set manually to a different ratio (many people favor 40% carbs, 30% fat, and 30% protein, which you can do by going to "Goals" and then "Custom"), but my basic strategy is to eat as much protein as possible, hit my fat goal, and come a little under on carbs.

I tend to think of my protein and fat goals as minimums and my carb goal as a maximum. As said above, MFP's protein default is set too low, imo. I wouldn't worry about it.

I asked essentially the same thing back when I started. Diannethegeek has it right.

Tangent: Are you eating back exercise calories, hopefully?

MFP's protein goals are too low, and the carb goal is too high.

In reality, your protein goal should be treated as an absolute minimum, and the carb goal should be treated as "doesn't matter."

I use MFP's protein & fiber goals as minimums, and ignore the rest. But if you ask 100 MFPers, you'll get 100 different opinions. Everybody's different, and weight loss takes a whole lot of trial & error to find what works for you.
