1500 calories really isn't a lot! A lot of people lose weight on 1500-1600 calories a day.
We all lose weight at different levels, because we are all different. Our bodies even burn calories differently, even if you are the same height and weight of another person.
I would try the 1500 calories, or whatever MFP tells you. Get in a 30 minute or more workout. If you can take walks, then I suggest starting there. If not, it may not be a bad idea to go to the gym for the treadmill or stationary bike. Then see how it goes and adjust your calories accordingly.0 -
1500 calories isn't really a lot, and this is NET calories... so if you exercise it will give you even more to aim for (be sure to log your calories burnt accurately, though).
It might be a big jump if you're not used to eating that much food to begin with, but that's what the fun part is. You can, absolutely, eat more calorie dense foods to reach your calorie goal.
So, if after breakfast, lunch, and dinner you still have calories left over and you want some ice cream... that's what they're there for.0
