Hello all,
Im 50 yrs young next month and approx 295lbs. Ive tried for 4 years now to get down to my "Im OK with that" weight of 249lbs. The closest I came to it was 275lbs but then I hurt my back and now Im back to 295lbs - my all-time high was 320lbs in 2010. In 2010 I started cycling when I realized there werent too many 300lb, 70 yr olds walking around, but managed to out-eat countless miles on the bike. I even rode 200 miles over 2 days. From 2010 to now I have cycled close to 5,000 miles but not so much lately due to the back issue.
I work in a cube so my moving-around is limited. I love bad food and I am a bread junkie. I lose patience with measuring food and making complex recipes. I also get tired of entering cals in the MFP app - this will be my fourth try at sticking to it. I know, its not a helpful attitude.
It hit home for me recently as I got a new job. I am so tired of wearing the same 4 "fat shirts" I have for work and so went clothes shopping. It was so frustrating as the XXL stuff wouldn't even button. I left the store(s) with nothing. I have a closet full of clothes that I was sure would fit but did not on getting home.
Anyways, hope this App and my new Fitbit will get me excited about trying again.
Thanks all.
