Time to be a big girl. Lol. Went from the 1200 (plus extra from working out) to 1440.
Hoping this works. Haven't lost anything in a week and a half and this should be the easiest part to lose (the first 10lbs)
People that have moved up, how has it helped you?

What changes have you noticed?0

I was much less grumpy and a lot more drunk when I moved from 1800-2800.0

I lost more when I ate at a smaller deficit. When I ate at 1200 my deficit was well over a 1000 since my TDEE is around 2400. Eating closer to 1800 calories kept me from having more mood swings, kept my energy level higher and helped me to lose weight at a better pace.0

changed mine from 1200 to 1400.
PROS:
more energy to function and exercise
eating more
losing weight faster
CONS: none!0 -
I feel better, less moody, less headaches, not hungry all the time. Best of all, I don't go overboard eating everything in sight as often. I went from 1200 to 1700 plus exercise calories. Just a better overall balance, and I can fit in snacks without feeling guilty (not a good relationship with food, clearly). Good luck! :flowerforyou:

I stopped hating life!
Really upping my calories is the ONLY reason I've lost as much as I have and been able to maintain it. I was a yo-yoer for years. Also its helped me with my fitness related goals. I run & lift and when I was on 1200 cals I only had the energy to half heartedly use the elliptical. I'm actually improving on my lifting and can do REAL pushups... and thats pushupS plural, used to be I could barely do one (and my form was crap).
I will say the first 2 weeks I did not lose weight. I might even have gained a smidge. after that it started falling off. like 1-2 lbs a week as opposed to my 1-2 lbs a month when i was at 1200/day.
really my sanity is the biggest improvement. I dont worry so much, I dont feel guilty (because let be serious, who can maintain 1200 cals a day for any length of time??) and I finally feel like I can maintain my loss because it used to be I'd drop 10 lbs and gain back 15 because I didnt know how to eat in a healthy sustainable way.
cheers!
ETA: I started out by bumping to 1450 and now I eat anywhere from 1500-2200 depending on my mood, my workouts, the events of the day etc... I eat clean: not much processed food, mostly things I've cooked myself but I dont worry too much if I eat something bad... for example Monday's lunch of a slice of peperoni & a gigantic cupcake0 -
I upped mine and still seeing no results!! I'm like the black sheep of weight loss! Everyone keeps telling me I'm gaining muscle tho...0

Wow, this really helps! I just always feel sooooo tired. I work crazy hours at work too, so trying to not eat that much made me feel ****ty.
Thank you everyone for your feed back. I'm hoping this makes a difference. I've been stuck above 145 for a year! (last year I wasn't trying really, just fully starting november/december) I just want to see 144 and I'll be happy.0
