How does a 100g of cooked rice look like?

Options
I tend to cheat sometimes when logging my rice intake because I am not sure if I ate a cupful of it or just 100 grams. How does a 100 gram of rice look like? Obviously, I don't have a scale. How many tablespoons of rice to reach 100 grams of it?

It's really hard to say since there is no direct equivalency between weight and volume. 100 grams of cotton balls is an entire bag. 100 grams of beans is around a 1/4 cup. Depends on your rice, but figure it to be 1/2 cup cooked. That's about 8 tablespoons. You should really invest the $15 in a food scale to know for sure though.

I'm pretty sure MFP has options to log cooked rice so I don't know why you even need to know...

I don't know if my serving is 100g or a cup full of rice. I am not sure.

What sort of rice is it? A cup of cooked brown rice is 206g (281 cal), a cup of cooked basmati rice is 162g (203 cal), a cup of normal white rice is 144 (169 cal). This information is from food composition tables I have used for work, and demonstrates why you need a scale, because even rice, which kind of gets lumped into one category, can radically differ between variants.

By the way this is a standard 250ml cup measure.

My concern is, I know how much calories is there in a 100 grams of rice, but I don't know how big a 100 grams of rice is. I don't have a point of comparison regarding this. Is it as big as a chicken leg, or as small as a scoop of an ice cream.
