Eating under calories... but too late at night!!

Watched a video by Shaun T about why people might do his programs and not lose weight: Among other reasons, one might be that even if you are eating clean/nutritious and under your calorie goals, if you eat all those calories at one time, and that one time is later in the evening, you stall weight loss because your body figures you aren't going to feed it and it needs to retain those calories.
This is anecdotal but it makes sense... what do you think? What has your experience been?

This is also anecdotal, but I've been eating all my calories (minus my morning coffee) starting at 3pm and often going to as late as 10pm. I stay in a deficit, and lose.
