I suck at keeping my cholesterol at the right levels. I have a BodyMedia Fit and it kept telling me I have been having to much of it and need to lower it.

My biggest issue was eggs.. I was having like 3 eggs a day.. Now i will try 2 egg whites and 1 whole egg.
I also am getting it from cheese... I guess I do have to much cheese... I need to work on that.
Also chicken or tilapia.. ( if you look at my diary i have used canned chicken.. but once this can i opened is finished, i wont be )

I know my diary isn't perfect.. I am sure I can work on a lot.. but this concerns me most.

Any of you paying attention to your cholesterol intake?

Have you had your cholesterol tested? If your body is functioning normally, dietary cholesterol won't matter unless you are grossly over the daily requirement because it will simply stop manufacturing cholesterol to balance what you consume.

Cholesterol intake usually doesn't translate into serum cholesterol for most people. Your body will create its own cholesterol. If you are just lowering your dietary cholesterol, you are probably attacking the problem from the wrong angle.

You may want to look up some strategies on how to get your HDL ("good" cholesterol) to LDL ("bad" cholesterol) ratio higher. You want more HDL and less LDL. Neither of them are actually good or bad, but you want the right ratio of them.

No I have never had it tested.

Yolks do have a lot of cholesterol, over 180 mg from what I remember. But if you haven't had yours tested, I wouldn't stress over it until you do. Barring hereditary high cholesterol, most people are fine. If you're worried, drop one yolk and keep the other.

    It is deff hereditary. :/
I come from a long line of medical issues.. :(( Esp autoimmune and heart issues.

I am going to try to lower it but maybe just not feel so worried about going over it somewhat.

I don't know what country you live in, but Kroger and Walgreens both offer $25 cholesterol checks quarterly. I have naturally high cholesterol - 356 last year - as do both of my parents. But my sister is just over 100 and eats bacon and eggs and lots of butter, cheese and whole milk completely unaffected. If you have it, cutting out eggs won't be enough, but find out first. It will require a dietary change beyond just eating less cholesterol.

Egg yokes have been shown to increase HDL (Good cholesterol) and decrease LDL (Bad cholesterol). Dietary cholesterol has very little effect on your blood cholesterol level.

I highly suggest reading through this:
