I've recently lost 4 stone and now am looking to tone up, I'm doing squats mostly since it's my butt and thighs that need the most toning. I'm new to toning up and gaining muscle so I'm not sure how it works! Will I gain weight and inches by doing squats or will the muscle replace the fat?

Are you eating at a surplus, maintenance, or a deficit? Do you have a set routine/plan or just lolsquats? Body weight or with weight added?

Not enough information to proceed with advice

Well I eat around 1500 calories a day and I have maintained my current weight at that for over a year. I'm 24, 5'3" and 126 lbs. I'm doing the 30 day squat challenge and I use my body weight.

You gain weight by eating at a surplus. You cannot spot reduce. Also, lifting heavy weights help.

Doing a 30-day bodyweight squat challenge will build endurance.

You'll probably take extra water and glycogen on board if you're not used to this amount of exercise, which might cause a temporary weight spike, but it won't be fat gain, so don't worry. But there'll be no appreciable muscle gain with this amount of eating and this kind of training.
