Personally, I would go with what the machine says.
But that's just me.0 -
I usually go with the lower number. It's better to err on the cautious side.0

I would use the lower number, because that way I wouldn't overeat. :happy:0

The machines at the gym give out generic calorie counts... as they do not figure in height or age only weight.. I use http://www.healthstatus.com/calculate/cbc this calculator than take the average from what the machine says and the # you get here or with the calculator... I personally find that the gym machines always come in REALLY low....

Did you enter your weight on the machine at the gym, and did the bike measure your heart rate throughout your workout? That makes a big difference. If you did enter your weight ans check heart rate, than go with what the bike said. If not, maybe split the difference, about 225 calories?
I recently got a heart rate monitor which is a great way to acurately measure calorie expenditure. since I have had this, I have found that the gym machines are off by 25-45%, even when I do enter my weight and hold heart sensors, they still say I burned more than what my personal monitor says. I have also found that the estimates online are also a bit off. But thats just what they are, estimates. Its really tough to get a really accurate number without a hrm that has all of your personal stats.0 -
thanks everyone...
seems like walkin on the treadmill and inputtin in MFP its about right, maybe 30-50cals off and i take the lower.. but approx 200 plus cals off is a big difference to me. I def don't want to over eat.. I think I'm sticking to my friend the treadmill.. haha I burn way more calories that way... and can do it way longer..
thanks again! :happy:0 -

I use the eliptical at my gym. I do one of the preset programs and I but 650 cal in 35 minutes. Granted I work my butt off for it. Just thought youd be interested.
