Anyone know where I can find the cal content of sizzling pub food? We are going out for our anniversary tomorrow night and after a terrible couple of days food wise I want to try and eat well but without spoiling our night. I've googled it but so far no luck, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you can't find it, then you'd probably have to guesstimate the ingredients and use the ingredients that are already on the database. At the end of the day, not all foods are accurately calculated. If you're unsure, maybe eat a smaller portion and drink lots of water.

Do you mean Fajitas? They are the only pub grub I can think of that comes out sizzling
  • at the end of the day its a special occasion go out enjoy as yoru cheat meal but then get the gym and work it off, if i was you i would be more dissatified with as you put 'a few days of dreadful eating' surely you need more self discapline on you food selection so enjoy tomorow then start a fresh

I've had a look at the online menu, there's a sizzling pub near me but i've never been.

Tbh most of the food looks fried which is probably why they don't publish the calories.

So like everyone else said go and enjoy yourself , but workout a bit longer on the day or the day after.

    Enjoy.

if you tap in sizzler in the search box in the database loads of foods come up - take a look see if its the right sort of food, if not guesstimate and just quick add the cals, but most of all just have a healthy day in the lead up to it and ENJOY!! xx

Just go for anything grilled or roasted, with a salad no dressing. That's what I do when I eat out and I'm usually well within my calories. Also, workout before you go!

    good luck :flowerforyou:

Cant find any info for Sizzling pubs, but Harvester are owned by the same parent company.

Their nutritional info is listed here...

    http://www.harvester.co.uk/nutritional-information1.html

Not ideal but it might give you a rough idea.

    Turns out they only publish the nutritional info from two of there restaurants. found this on the web;

    Calorie information
Mitchells & Butlers is one of the first
pub companies to agree to publish
information on the calorie content of
dishes on the menus in two of our brands
    - Harvester restaurants and Scream pubs
    - as part of our involvement in the Food
    Standards Agency initiative.
The trial, which began in June in around
25 of our businesses, aimed to help to
    improve customer awareness of the
nutritional content of a dish, at the point
when they are looking to decide on their
    menu choice. Supporting this voluntary
    scheme has enabled our Menu
    Development team to monitor customer
reaction to the wide range of healthy
options we serve and therefore expand
    our commitment to providing good
    nutritious food in our businesses.
We held our own customer discussion
groups to gain feedback during the trial,
as well as allowing the Food Standards
Agency access to our pubs to conduct
consumer research. Now the trial is
    completed we have a better
understanding of which of our healthy
meal choices are popular, and are
currently working on how we can expand
these options and continue to give our
    customers choice.
Our customers are able to access full
    analytical, nutritional information for
every menu item via the Harvester
website and a full breakdown for carving
deck items on the Toby Carvery and
Crown Carveries websites. Our menus are
constantly evolving and we will continue
to look for opportunities to provide our
    customers with nutritional information in
the future to further enhance our menus.

So I think your best bet is the link lardy999 provided and use that to make your best guess for the Sizzling Pub's menu, which you can get online. Like lardy999 says, not ideal but it's better then nothing.

Also something I do is cut everything in half as soon as my plate arrives. This really helps keep me from eating to much in one sitting. Have a great time.
