new mama here ... trying to lose baby weight

help me ladies!!! i am stuck at 13 lbs pre preg weight .. my baby is 17 weeks now and i had gained 35 lbs , i was 147 earlier.. now i am 160. i want to be at 130. hel help help please.

    Hi Nikki. I searched the threads for baby and found your post. You sound like my twin. I am a new mom also. My sweet baby boy will be 10 weeks on Sunday. I am 4' 11" . I was 135-140 pre pregnancy and at birth I weighed 162. After I had my son, I didn't loose any weight. I'm sure I was holding on to water from all the fluids and then there was Thanksgiving and Christmas. I started my journey on January 1. I use myfitnesspal religiously and I do Jillian Michaels 30 day shred ( level 1 is free on youtube). It's only been 24 days and I have lost 6 lbs. In Addition tracking EVERYTHING I eat, I also only eat 1200 calories a day (3500 calorie deficit a week).

    A list of things I never eat:
    Fried foods
    White bread, rice, potatoes
    Sugar, candy, chips, pastry
    Didn't eat red meat for 3 weeks
    Sodas, juice of any kind
    NO FAST FOODS
    When dining out, I stick to veggies and meat dishes
    I'm careful to check labels- i was surprised to see how many calories were in my favorite salad dressing. I still eat it, but now I measure out 2 tbs exactly.

    I hope this helps. This has been working for me and I should reach my goal of 130 by mid April.

    Also, getting online and getting support through Facebook, blogs, etc really helps on those "lazy- eat what i want days"

  • Thank you for sharing! i have lost 1.2 lbs in 2 weeks which is a shame... but still better than nothing. i am 12 lbs far from pre preg weight and i would like to lose at-least 20lbs. will search for video in youtube. my major problem area is my tummy. i still look 4 months preg :(
