I'm very excited. I have an F6 now, but with all the running I am doing lately, I wanted a runners HRM to track pace and interval train. Check this puppy out. What a work horse! I'm very excited, saving my pennies for this sucker.

I know, it's a lot of dough, but hey, I'm worth it. Gotta love myself right? I get a check from work for all the on call this month so I have a little extra, and of course, the wife is going to florida and I can't go because of work (I got a big old VETO from the boss because I'm the only one who can do something that HAS to be done on a certain day, right smack in the middle of the trip, of course.), so now I have all the spending money I had saved, so I'm gonna use it for cool stuff. I already bought a pair of $90 saucony's for myself (they are like two squishie marshmellows on my feet....heaven!), but this is the biggie.

For as hard as you work. Spoil yourself rotten. You deserve it.
You should send us a bill for the night you had to train us on the downloading the images.
You would have that watch now.

I would NEVER charge you guys, you all pay me in the laughs I get anyway.

lol, that reminds me of something funny. My mom asked me to help our neighbor with a computer issue he had. Now I no longer do end user stuff (I'm like 10 years too senior to work on end user issues), but I used to have my own consulting firm and I did stuff like that, and I charged $85/hour for that type of stuff. So he had some pretty hard core issues, viruses, spyware...etc. So it was like 3.5 hours of work. My mom had NO CLUE how much something like that would cost. Needless to say I didn't charge them a penny, but a week later or so when I stopped by my mom's house she hands me a gift certificate from them, which was nice, but I open it and it's $50. I had an inner smirk for like an hour, I'm wondering if they had any idea how much this would have cost if they took it to like compUSA or some other computer store. I just found it overtly amusing, I didn't say anything though. I told her next time though, that this really should be handled by their warranty!

Well when running is your passion so this purchase is no different than a golfer buying a new driver or a ball player like yourself after a new Demarini

Excuse my ignorance....but do I understand that I can get a more accurate calories-burned count if I get a Polar? (no, not the Cadillac, just a nice mid-sized model will be just fine)

Yes, you can. You can get a calorie count based on you, not a randomly generated model (like on a machine at the gym.)

I LOVE my heart rate monitor. I'm a new convert. (Polar F11 for me):flowerforyou:

i would highly recommend a garmin forerunner 305. i have used it to train for a marathon, three half marathons and a few 10 milers. it gives you calories burned and distance............you can also use it if you a cycle and even set it up for "other" so it can be used for whatever you want. the price tag is significantly less (especially if you research for a rebate). we found the cheapest prices on amazon when we got it.

my 2 cents.................regardless of which you choose...............treat yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's worth it (plus it is fun to track your progress as you download the info in your computer!

Yeah, when I did cardio classes before my HRM I had no idea how many calories I was burning...I just new it was between 400-600 calories.

I got my HRM and now I know exactly how many calories I burn, my heart rate, and everything else. It's delicious :)

I have this one also. I love it. I use it when I run & bike outside. Tracks everything, it's great.
I use my Polar for in the gym.
